Water Fed Poles

A water-fed pole is a telescopic pole with a hose inside and a jetted brush at the tip that scrubs and rinses windows and solar panels with pure water from the ground, so the glass dries spot-free without a squeegee. We sell 6 m and 9 m waterfed poles and complete kits with a 15 litre pump and a 1,030 litre-a-day reverse osmosis plant.

How a water fed pole works

A water fed pole system has three parts: a filter that makes pure water, a pump or tap pressure that pushes it up the pole, and a brush with jets that scrubs and rinses in one pass.

1. Pure water

A reverse osmosis or DI system removes the minerals from tap water. It must read under 10 ppm on a TDS meter, or it leaves spots as it dries. See reverse osmosis systems.

2. Scrub and rinse

The water runs up the hose inside the pole to plastic pencil jets on a 30 cm brush. You scrub the glass and frame, then rinse from the top down.

3. Leave it to dry

Because pure water carries no minerals, the glass air-dries clear. No soap, no squeegee, no ladder.

Questions

What is a water-fed pole used for?

A water-fed pole is used to clean windows, frames and solar panels from the ground with pure water, up to the third storey, without ladders, soap or a squeegee.

How much does a water fed pole cost?

Our 6 m aluminium waterfed pole costs R5,310.00, the 6 m fibreglass pole R7,310.00 and the 9 m fibreglass pole R9,200.00; a complete kit with pump and reverse osmosis costs R14,940.00 to R17,090.00.

How to set up a water fed pole?

Connect the filter to a tap, check the output reads under 10 ppm, connect the hose to the pole, extend it section by section and clean top-down. The full routine is in our waterfed pole setup guide.

What is the best budget water fed pole?

The 6 m aluminium waterfed pole (R5,310.00) is the lowest-cost way in for double-storey work; choose fibreglass near overhead cables. Compare them in aluminium vs fibreglass waterfed poles.
