TDS meter for window and solar cleaning water
This TDS meter is a pocket tester that reads the total dissolved solids in water, in parts per million (ppm). Dip it in your reverse osmosis or DI water before you clean: under 10 ppm dries spot-free, while South African tap water usually reads 50–300 ppm. It is the same meter included in the RO kit we supply.
TDS meter specifications
| Measures | Total dissolved solids (TDS) |
|---|---|
| Unit | ppm (parts per million) |
| Format | Pocket meter with case |
| Included with | Our RO kit |
What the reading means
Under 10 ppm: pure enough for spot-free windows and solar panels. 10–20 ppm: typical fresh RO output, near spot-free. Above that, your filters or resin need attention. Test both the tap water and the filtered water so you can see how hard your filtration is working.
Use it with the 1,030 L/day reverse osmosis system or the reverse osmosis water trolley.
TDS meter: questions
What ppm do I need for window cleaning?
Under 10 ppm for spot-free drying.
What does tap water read?
Most South African tap water reads 50–300 ppm, which leaves spots as it dries.
